Pre-Read
annotate/label for title, author, genre, features of the text, publication date
make a prediction about what the article will say on the front page at the top
number the paragraphs (don't include the headings) there are 23 paragraphs!
Read and Annotate
read each paragraph and circle key names or words, underline claims and label them "C", circle evidence and label it "E"
make a comment or short summary sentence in the margin for every paragraph.
Answer the "Ten Questions for Non-Fiction Text" on a separate sheet of binder paper in complete sentences.
Write a rhetorical precis- MLA Format either hand written in ink, or typed and printed out due Friday!
